Directions

The recommended route from Winnipeg is hwy 59 north to hwy 44 east, then hwy 11 north and hwy 211 east to Pinawa. You can see the route using Google Maps here.

It's about 106 km and the drive should take a little over an hour from the north Perimeter.

Where to Eat On The Way To And From Pinawa

Supper is not provided on Friday, so you may want to stop for a bite on the way to Pinawa. Here are a few suggestions:

  • Pinawa Golf Clubhouse
  • Burger Boat (not sure what it's named now) docked at the Pinawa Marina
  • Jennifer's on Wheels - Gourmet food truck in Seven Sisters - recommended!
  • The Tourist hotel, Seven Sisters. Smorg for lunch on Fridays and has a pretty typical small town hotel menu. And a delicious mushroom burger.
  • Seven Sisters Motel (otherwise known as Trudy's), which can have pretty good food - again, a fairly typical small town restaurant menu, and isn't very big inside.
  • The Lakeview, Lac du Bonnet, Chinese food.
  • The Glen Howard in Lac du Bonnet, another small town hotel restaurant.
  • Drifters, Lac du Bonnet, is pretty good too. It's on the highway a little north of the Glen Howard. A combo Esso-restaurant.
